Choreography: George Balanchine.
Sets, costumes: André Beauchant (new costumes in 1929 by Coco Chanel).

Premiered on June 12, 1928 by the Ballets Russes in Paris (théâtre Sarah Bernhardt), with Igor Stravinsky himself as a conductor. Dancers at the premiere: Serge Lifar (Apollo), Alice Nikitina (Terpsichore), Felia Doubrovska (Polymnie), Lioubov Tchernicheva (Calliope), Sophie Orlova (Leto, mother of Apollo).

In the repertoire of the Paris Opera Ballet since 1947.

Note: Balanchine made several changes to the choreography later. For example, he changed the Terpsichore Variation in 1928 (for Alexandra Danilova), removed the first scene in 1978, changed the end in 1979.
